For many people, an empty space invites clutter. If you and your family have a habit of using the kitchen table as a dumping ground for mail, keys, electronic devices, magazines and newspapers, etc… try keeping placemats on the table – or even set the table. The place settings will prevent you from unconsciously using the table as a dumping ground.

This has been a problem area in my own home, so I’m going to take my own advice… as soon as I get the table cleared off!
