And the Survey Says…
By Nancy September 13th, 2010
I received in the mail today the latest edition of a well respected trade publication for the kitchen and bath industry. This magazine is big – I mean the format is big – approximately 10″ x 14″, assumably to better showcase photos. In the beginning of the magazine, where all good stuff is, are the results of a survey on consumer buying trends. A full legal size page of important stuff for a designer like me to know. So I start reading about the survey that reveals how homeowners use their kitchens differently than they did in the recent past. The survey says that homeowners use their kitchens:
1. To eat meals or snacks.
Who knew?
2. To plan meals.
My goodness!
3. To take vitamins.
I couldn’t believe it.
4. To talk in person with their family.
Incredible!
At least the study below, reported in July of this year with the following headline, was amusing enough to be talked about on NPR’s “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me!”
Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
British scientists claim to have solved the mystery
By the way, it was the chicken.
