Keeping it Local

Got a tree that needs chopping down? Sure, you’ll have a lot of wood for the firepit… or, you could call Wood From The Hood! WFTH is a company that collects and mills local trees that would otherwise be turned into mulch or firewood, then recycles it into flooring, furniture, millwork, and accessories. Harvesting urban trees that need to come down due to disease, or to make way for new construction, or that have fallen naturally, and then milling them for local use is as “green” as it gets.
Next time you’re in the market for flooring or millwork, check to see if they’ve got something from your neighborhood. They’ve also got a great line of cutting boards and picture frames that are sold through local stores.
What a great idea!
