This cozy Minneapolis bungalow kitchen had a compact yet efficient layout but was in need of additional storage and an updated look. Keeping the existing stainless steel countertop left little opportunity to modify the kitchen layout, but a counter-depth refrigerator allowed a wider opening to the back hall providing needed maneuvering room. The red commercial-style range gives a focal point to the space. New cabinetry along the exterior wall adds storage for pots and pans, small appliances, dishes and collectibles. The hutch's combination of painted and glazed cabinets tie the piece to the kitchen, and the new hickory floor further unifies the space.
