Wallpaper, wallpaper, everywhere!

If you haven’t yet noticed, you might not be getting out enough… wallpaper is everywhere! From the ASID showcase condo on Lake Calhoun to Sex and the City on the big screen, wallpaper has made a comeback in a BIG way. Before you run screaming from your computer, read on.

The biggest innovation in wallpaper is the ease of removability. No more steaming! No more scraping! It’s easy on and easy off. If you hang a sheet crooked, just take it off and try again. The removable wallpapers also breathe, which reduce mildew problems should moisture get trapped behind the wallpaper. Removable wallpapers are available from several manufacturers. Two types to look for are Easy2™ and SureStrip™.

As far as wallpaper styles and patterns go, some of the things we’re seeing are:

Faux finish looks such as marbling or rag rolling, but without the inconsistencies you usually get with painting.

Metallic sheens that have a little shimmer.

Texture such as grasscloth, cork, natural stone and brick.
